Getting started with OWLv2
What is OWLv2?
OWLv2 is an interactive eLearning resource designed to help you master chemistry by making concepts clear and accessible. You’ll be able to practise at your own pace until you understand each concept and skill.
Your OWLv2 has been customised by your instructor to guide you through your course and help you focus on what’s important.
It includes ready-made content aligned to your textbook, such as the eBook for your course and other helpful online study tools such as book-specific practice problems with instant feedback, videos, quizzes and much more.
OWLv2 can be accessed direct from your institution’s learning management system (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc) or as a standalone resource.
How to access OWLv2
You can access the OWLv2 for your course two ways – using a course key or using a course link.
COURSE KEY:
Sign in to your Cengage content dashboard and click on ‘Register another course or product’ at the top of the page, then enter the course key provided by your instructor. Don’t have a course key? Reach out to your instructor to request it.
COURSE LINK:
If your instructor gave you a course link, you can use that instead. Don’t have a course link? Reach out to your instructor to request it.
Before you start using OWLv2
Before you start studying with OWLv2, run a quick system check of your computer to ensure you have everything you need to access and use this platform. Click here to run the system check: ng.cengage.com/static/browsercheck/
Your OWLv2 free trial
You’re able to try before you buy! Get free access to OWLv2 for 14 days before you buy it. To unlock your free trial, follow the steps in ‘How to Unlock OWLv2’ below.
How to unlock OWLv2
- Course link: Click on your course link. If you already have a Cengage account, enter your username and password. Or simply create a Cengage account
Course key: Sign in to your Cengage account or create a Cengage account. Go to your Cengage content dashboard and click on ‘Register another course or product’ at the top of the page, then enter the course key provided by your instructor - Choose to buy now or get temporary access. If you have purchased a print textbook, enter the access code located inside the front cover of the textbook. Please note, if you select temporary access you will be able to use your OWLv2 free of charge for 14 days
- Get 10% OFF at the checkout by using the discount code provided by your instructor. Don’t have a discount code? Ask your instructor for one
- To get back into your OWLv2 course go to Cengage.com and log in. You’ll be taken to My Home where you can access your OWLv2 course and any other Cengage resources
How to unlock OWLv2 in your LMS
- Head to your campus Learning Management System (LMS) homepage and log in
- Click on any link to Cengage OWLv2 content* to continue the registration process
- If you already have a Cengage account, enter your username and password. Or simply create a Cengage account
- Choose buy now or get temporary access. Please note, if you select temporary access you will be able to use OWLv2 free of charge for 14 days
- Get 10% OFF at the checkout by using the discount code provided by your instructor. Don’t have a discount code? Ask your instructor for one
